On April 22-24, 2018, the journal «Cement and its Application» held the 10th anniversary international conference on cement PetroCem in St. Petersburg.

Over the 18 years that have passed since the first conference, its unique style, working atmosphere, carefully structured program, and hospitality of the organizers have made PetroCem the expected and respected event of the industry.

Significantly expanded geography and the circle of its participants. 170 people from 21 countries of the world met at PetroCem 2000. The PetroCem-2018 conference brought together more than 530 participants from 320 companies and organizations in 36 countries. 85 factories and holdings from

  • Tajikistan;

and other countries delegated their representatives to the conference.

The composition of the participants allowed to discuss the most pressing issues, negotiate at the highest level, the following were presented:

  • Government of the Russian Federation;
  • Government of St. Petersburg;
  • Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus;
  • cement industry associations;
  • The largest Russian and international cement holdings;
  • banks;
  • trading, engineering and transport companies;
  • manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, services and materials for the cement industry.

Since the first PetroCem conference in 2000, much has changed in the cement industry. Of particular interest are trends in the financial, economic, industrial and technical development of the industry, projects for the construction and reconstruction of factories, and the development of new technologies. In Russia today, most of the cement is produced by the energy-efficient dry method. Attention to product quality is growing, and its product range is expanding. Environmental requirements are becoming significantly stricter. The program of the conference was formed taking into account the requests and expectations of its participants.

The Astoria Hotel, the traditional venue for the conference, also hosted an exhibition where 72 companies presented innovative developments of equipment and materials, methods of maintenance and repair, and ways to modernize production. The working conditions provided by the organizers, as always, facilitated business and friendly communication, a fruitful exchange of knowledge and experience. The final chord of the event was a gala dinner, decorated with a concert by prominent stage masters.
