On April 24-26, 2016, one of the largest international conferences on cement, PetroCem, was held again. For the ninth time, this event was traditionally held in St. Petersburg at the Astoria Hotel.

Since 2000, the Journal «Cement and its Application» has been its initial and permanent initiator and organizer. The PetroCem-2016 conference brought together about 500 participants from 38 countries of the world, representing more than 320 companies and organizations.

Representatives of more than 85 cement plants and holdings from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Germany, Israel, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Finland and others gathered in St. Petersburg. countries. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation was represented at the conference; Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus; Committee for the Construction of the Government of St. Petersburg; cement industry associations; banks; manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, services and materials for the cement industry; trading, engineering and logistics companies.

In the messages made at the conference, its participants were provided with comprehensive information about the state of affairs in the modern cement world, trends and prospects for the development of the industry in the financial, economic, industrial and technical fields. Presentations were made both on completed projects and on the preparation of new ones. Much attention is paid to expanding the range of cements and their certification, saving energy and raw materials, waste management and reducing emissions. New developments in the field of technology and equipment, issues of modernization, maintenance and repair were not only considered in reports, but also reflected at an exhibition presented by 70 companies. An active discussion of topics important to the industry continued on the sidelines.

The working conditions created by the organizers, the highest level of representation of the conference participants provided the maximum opportunities for effective business communication. The conference traditionally ended with a gala dinner, which was held in one of the most beautiful palaces of St. Petersburg and was accompanied by performances by brilliant artists.
