The conference was attended by representatives of most cement plants in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, cement producers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Israel, Ireland, Latvia, Moldova, Portugal, Finland, France, Croatia, Uzbekistan, Switzerland. The Association of Cement Workers, the Administration of St. Petersburg, the largest Russian and international cement holdings were represented. Among the participants there were many firms – consumers of cement, and manufacturers of cement equipment and suppliers of services and materials were especially widely represented. This provides a wide range for fruitful contacts.
The conference program included 54 messages on a variety of topics. A large group of reports was devoted to the situation in the cement industry of the world, Russia and its neighbors, as well as investment opportunities. The subjects of communications of equipment and materials suppliers covered the current state of almost all stages of cement production and ways to achieve resource saving, environmental protection, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction. Of great interest was the meeting on laboratory equipment, which presented new areas of production process control.
No less interesting than reports was the extensive exhibition with more than 50 participants, where one could get acquainted with product samples and company prospectuses, get expert advice, and discuss the details. It was at the exhibition that there was a discussion on the interests of the participants, specific issues were resolved.
As always, the conference was held in the famous Astoria Hotel, and ended with a gala dinner in the magnificent marble hall of one of the most beautiful Petersburg palaces on Arts Square, which was accompanied by a concert with the participation of prominent pop groups.
