On April 22–25, 2012, the seventh international conference PetroСem was held in St. Petersburg. Over and over again, the conference brings together cement professionals from around the world. The traditions of the event, the range of topics discussed, the highest level of conduct, and representativeness make the conference special for its participants.

This year, over 520 people from 33 countries, representing 311 companies and organizations, gathered in St. Petersburg.

The conference brought together cement workers from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, the Baltic states and many others, representing 61 plants, 15 designed and constructed plants, 21 Russian and international holdings. Representatives of professional associations of cement workers, banks, credit organizations, leasing and trading companies, equipment and technology manufacturers also participated in the event. The level of participants, among which were the owners, managers, technical specialists of the companies, allowed us to negotiate on any topic: from equipment procurement to the construction of factories. The conference program covered a wide range of issues related to the cement industry in the world. A number of completed projects for the construction of new modern plants and the modernization of existing facilities were considered, further plans for this direction were outlined. New developments in the field of equipment and materials for almost the entire technological chain of cement production are presented, examples of their use in enterprises are given. The reports reflect the issues of financial support of investments, energy saving, environmental protection, technology optimization, power supply, standardization.

The Astoria Hotel, a traditional venue for the conference, also hosted an exhibition of equipment and technology manufacturers. 72 companies exhibited their products, held consultations, and discussed opportunities for cooperation.

One of the sponsors – LSR Group hosted the conference participants at its LSR-Cement plant in Slantsy, Leningrad Region. The tour route included key redistributions of cement production. Specialists of the plant answered numerous questions of the excursionists, discussions continued over lunch in the factory canteen.

The atmosphere of the PetroCem conference facilitated fruitful business communication, the exchange of knowledge, and experience. The final chord of the conference was a gala dinner in the main hall of the Tauride Palace, decorated with the performance of outstanding artists.
